MAKATI CITY, Philippines - On January 23, 2017, Personiv VP Operations, Paulo Cheung, received his Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification together with the whole Personiv management committee, after reducing YP Presence Listing’s weekly average research time from 8.14 Minutes down to 2.52 minutes, resulting to an annual cost savings of 15,000 USD, or approximately 750K when converted to pesos.

A few of the key changes that led to such results were instead of sourcing candidates based on basic CSR requirements, they sourced candidates based on the Process’ requirements instead, this also led to the YP Ops working hand in hand with Training to develop a new training process revising the course from pre-process to process training, up to nesting and certification, all of which correspond to the need of the YP process.

"That's one reason why companies give high value to Certified Lean Six Sigma individuals. One does not just attend a program and receive his certification but has to successfully apply and show proper use of tools and methodology with actual work processes. One has to earn his Lean Six Sigma certification," -Rex Jayson Tuozo, "The Six Sigma Guy", MBB

Aside from the cost savings of 750K annually, the shorter processing time allowed the Operations to meet their 14-day window SLA, and use the saved time for more productive activities + lessening the need for OT.

You'll be assigned a Black Belt to help you complete your project," Tuozo added.

To be certified in Lean Six Sigma, one has to complete an actual Lean Six Sigma project and apply process improvement tools, methodology, and techniques learned in class. "That's one reason why companies give high value to Certified Lean Six Sigma individuals. One does not just attend a program and receive his certification but has to successfully apply and show proper use of tools and methodology with actual work processes.
