The Philippines Gains 1 Certified Six Sigma Black Belt and 6 Green Belts

by Crisglen John Villegas

MAKATI CITY, Philippines-  Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Rex Jayson Tuozo “The Six Sigma Guy”, Certified a handful of AWESOME professionals in the last day of Six Sigma Philippines’ MEGA Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Program for Service Industry (Wave 20) last November 25, 2016.
To be certified in Six Sigma, one has to complete an actual Six Sigma project and apply process improvement tools, methodology and techniques learned in class.  "That's one reason why companies give high value for Certified Six Sigma individuals.  One does not just attend a program and receive his certification, but has to successfully apply and show proper use of tools and methodology with actual work processes.

"That's one reason why companies give high value for Certified Six Sigma individuals.  One does not just attend a program and receive his certification, but has to successfully apply and show proper use of tools and methodology with actual work processes.  One has to earn his Six Sigma certification," –Rex Tuozo, “The Six Sigma Guy”
One has to earn his Six Sigma certification," Tuozo said.  "If you attend our Six Sigma programs, unlike other training providers, you get continuous support after the program, for no additional cost.  You'll be assigned a Black Belt to help you complete your project," Tuozo added.
Each certified professionals and their projects were keenly reviewed by The Six Sigma Guy himself to see if they have successfully utilized and applied the tools and methodologies. The focus of each project varies from the reduction of processing time and process defects to either produce cost savings, acquire additional sales and improve customer satisfaction.
Impact of the results varies as well; some decreased processing time by days, hours, and minutes; some saved companies a few hundred thousand pesos worth of cost savings; while some saved only several tens of thousands and at the same time, bring worth of hundred thousands of additional sales. The results and its gravity varied in great ranges, however the important thing about these results is that they were all significantly helpful in the places where they were delivered.
In their individual testimonials, the newly certified professionals were all grateful to the tools and methodologies. They also expressed gratitude to their trainer, Six Sigma Philippines’ very own, The Six Sigma Guy, who were likewise, glad to see his former students bring positive changes by applying the knowledge that he has taught them.

Is This Almost the Same In Your Office? --90% of What Gets Done are Wastes?

"In the office, waste can masquerades as productive work."

-Lean Office Innovation

I am not talking about dusts, cobwebs, candy wrappers, and used staple wires on your desk.  What I mean are activities that are non-value adding.  You may call it work, but if it doesn't transform the product or service to what the customer wants, it is waste and nothing more.

The infographic below categorizes office wastes to 4 types: Process, Information, Physical Environment and People.

An example of process waste is unnecessary approvals.  Have you seen a document with many signatures required such as: "prepared by", "reviewed by", "concurred by", "approved by", "noted by", and all other words with "by".  It is like, everyone in the organization wants to sign on the same document.  Go back to basic and ask each signatory, "what value to the customer your signature adds when you sign the document?"  You'll be surprised with their answers.

How many % do you think of all work done in your office are wastes?  Share on the comments box below so we may learn from you.

Cheers!

THIS will Change YOUR life in 2017

Read this at least 5 times each morning, and it will surely change your life starting now and in 2017.

“Stop waiting for the ‘right time.’ Success is a numbers game: the number of times you take a shot.” You’ll never create the perfect business plan, never find the perfect partners, the perfect market, the perfect location, but you can find the perfect time to start.

                                            That time is now.

Talent, experience, and connections are important, but put your all into enough new things and some will work. Take enough shots and over time you’ll grow more skilled, more experienced, and more connected. And that will mean a greater percentage of your efforts will succeed. Take enough shots, learn from what didn’t work, and in time you’ll have all the skills, experience, and connections you need.

Ultimately success is all about taking your shot, over and over again. Sometimes you may win, sometimes you will definitely lose, but the more things you try the more chances you have of succeeding. Put the power of numbers on your side. Take as many shots as you can.

There’s no guarantee of success, but when you don’t take a shot, there’s a definite guarantee of failure.

You can do it.  I know you can.
