100 + L&D and HR Professionals Earn Six Sigma White Belt Certification

MAKATI CITY, Philippines-  The resource speaker for 2016 September Tipanan session of Philippine Society for Training and Development (PSTD) is no other than Mr. Rex Jayson Tuozo. He is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt & Lean Six Sigma Program Director; also known as “The Six Sigma Guy”, he turned one of PSTD’s monthly Tipanan into a Party.

Last September 22, 2016, our very own Six Sigma Guy introduced several key concepts about the Six Sigma Program; from the importance of knowing these concepts, to the benefits that both an individual and a company can gain with these concepts kept in mind. He also imparted a couple of useful Six Sigma tools to a crowd comprised of more than a hundred admirable professionals.

Always wanting to make sure that everyone learns something from his class, Rex did not only explain the Six Sigma concepts and tools. He taught the crowd how to utilize the tools. He also made sure that after his talk, the people would be able to take home something that will be of help to them – something simple and practical, yet at the same time, very effective.

Learning filled the entire venue: people conversing, sharing, presenting their synthesis with one another... – This is the Six Sigma Party Feels.

That being said, the audience did not only sit and listen to the speaker all throughout the program. Rather, they experienced the Six Sigma tools hands-on: they were divided to a group of five, tasked to make their own diagrams and analyses by using information from their own workplace. Afterwards, they presented it to other groups. Learning filled the entire venue: people conversing, sharing, presenting their synthesis with one another; inspecting the tools and their ideas, and formulating answers to their own questions. The audience were all wallowing in new knowledge – they were enjoying the Six Sigma Party!

After the debriefing session, and a few more interactive activities, The Six Sigma Guy bestowed these professionals their Six Sigma White Belt Certification, the first yet at the same time, a very big step in the corporate ladder.
