MAKATI CITY, Philippines - Reya de Ocampo, Operations Manager in the Franchising Business and owner of IMSHR Corporate Support Inc. (ICS) received her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification last July 22, 2016, at the graduation of Six Sigma PH's 17th Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Course. Reya shared her experiences on how Six Sigma PH’s Lean Six Sigma program helped her lead her process improvement project. She also gave tips to the new Green Belt graduates and inspired them to aim to complete their projects and their Lean Six Sigma certifications.

To be certified in Lean Six Sigma, one has to complete an actual Lean Six Sigma project and apply process improvement tools, methodology, and techniques learned in class. "That's one reason why companies give high value to Certified Lean Six Sigma individuals. One does not just attend a program and receive his certification but has to successfully apply and show proper use of tools and methodology with actual work processes. One has to earn his Lean Six Sigma certification," Rex Tuozo, Master Black Belt of Six Sigma PH said. "If you attend our Lean Six Sigma programs, unlike other training providers, you get continuous support after the program, for no additional cost. You'll be assigned a Black Belt to help you complete your project," Tuozo added.

The goal of Reya's project was to reduce the average number of days of billing collection (overdue invoices). After completing her Lean Six Sigma project, it went down from 53 days to 28 days which resulted in projected annualized cost savings of P3.5 MM due to the reduction of reconciliation costs and penalties due to overdue balances, and computerization of the billing & collection system. The project also reduced the average processing time from the processing of billing invoices by 19 days.

"I have learned a lot from Six Sigma PH's Lean Six Sigma program. I have learned to use graphical analysis to help me come up with data-driven decisions. It also taught me how to identify the appropriate charts and graphical tools depending on what is needed. And most of all, it gave me a structured methodology (DMAIC) in solving business process problems," Reya said in her testimonial.
