MAKATI CITY, Philippines - Carlo Oliver Vergara, Senior Process Engineer & Quality Management Representative of Innovatronix (IX) Inc. received his Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification last July 21, 2016, from Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt- Rex "The Six Sigma Guy" Tuozo.

To be certified in Lean Six Sigma, one has to complete an actual Lean Six Sigma project and apply process improvement tools, methodology, and techniques learned in class. "That's one reason why companies give high value to Certified Lean Six Sigma individuals. One does not just attend a program and receive his certification but has to successfully apply and show proper use of tools and methodology with actual work processes. One has to earn his Lean Six Sigma certification," Tuozo said. "If you attend our Lean Six Sigma programs, unlike other training providers, you get continuous support after the program, for no additional cost. You'll be assigned a Black Belt to help you complete your project," Tuozo added.

Carlo Oliver Veragara's project is about the reduction of Material Controller Job Order receiving time. It was on average at 3.78 days which resulted in an increase in average manufacturing time by 2 days at a minimum; a Decrease in overall throughput by 25%; and the need to render overtime and sometimes overnight work by the line.

After completing the Lean Six Sigma project, the Material Controller JO receiving time went down from 3.78 days on the overage to 15.6 hours on average. It resulted in a reduction of average manufacturing time by 10 days, a throughput increase of 161%, and happier employees by significantly reducing the overtime needed by the company.

"One thing I like about Lean Six Sigma is it's not only about cost savings. Business processes (become) more efficient, and because of that, employees need not render overtime and spend more time with their families. We practically give their lives back," Vergara said in his testimonial.
