MAKATI CITY, Philippines - From Thumbtack, a tech startup based in San Franciso California USA, Pascual Jerome Pattaui earned his Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification last August 26, 2016, on the last day of Six Sigma PH's Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Program for Service Industry (Wave 18).

Going by the nickname “Al”, he shared the roadblocks that he encountered while conducting his project, how he was able to overcome these roadblocks and turn them into milestones, and the significance of his Lean Six Sigma training towards the success of his project. Al also shared some tips and words of encouragement to inspire the graduating Green Belt Class to complete their projects and get certified.

"Companies give high value to Certified Lean Six Sigma individuals because one does not just attend a program and gets certified by merely attending a seminar or passing written exams. To be certified, one has to successfully apply the tools and show proper use of methodology and techniques, with actual work processes. In short, one has to earn his Lean Six Sigma certification." – Rex "The Six Sigma Guy" Tuozo, Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

To be certified in Lean Six Sigma, one has to complete an actual process improvement project and apply Lean Six Sigma tools, methodology, and techniques learned in class.

“Last year, my company asked me to take a Lean Six Sigma class so I could start projects that aim to reduce process delays and defects and bring cost savings. I researched and checked all providers here in the Philippines. I can say that joining Six Sigma PH's class was one of the best decisions I have made," Al said in his testimonial speech.

Al's project reduced the average QA error rate from 9.04% to 6.67% which increased the overall QA score to 98%, reduced snippets rework by 2%, and projected annualized rework cost savings of approximately 21,000 USD or P1,000,000.00.

"If you attend our Lean Six Sigma programs, you get continuous support after the program, for no additional cost. You'll be assigned a Master Black Belt or Black Belt to coach you and help you complete your project"

In the closing parts of his testimonial speech, Al also shared that one big factor of his recent promotion was completing his project. Now, as a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green belt, Al continues to apply and evolve the process to further reduce the defect rates, bring bigger numbers for the company’s annual cost savings, and improve work processes for his colleagues.
