     Q. What prompted you to take the Lean Six Sigma Workshop?

     A. Personal growth and career growth prompted me to explore Lean Six Sigma training. I came across iAcademy which offered the training back in 2014. Through my personal savings, I took the training and equipped myself for possible projects.

     Q. What prompted you to start your project?

     A. My desire to complete my certification was my driving force to start my project. Although I was faced with a lot of huge roadblocks, I didn’t let them beat me to my certification. It took me 2 years to complete my certification and I was ecstatic to finally achieve certification.

     Q. What was your project about?

     A. My project was about the reduction of defects (late food deliveries) in Mary & Martha’s Kitchen in the Makati area. With the very tight competition in the food industry, food delivery has brought the competition a level higher. With this in mind, MMK introduced food delivery in 2016 but has experienced a lot of late deliveries in the Makati area.

     Q. What was it like for you, starting up and executing your own project?

     A. It was hard at first. I tried to start with different projects but restrictions would always come in my way. But I would always remind myself why I enrolled in the first place. Until I embraced the fact that Lean Six Sigma is applicable in all industries, big or small.

     Q. What were the results of your project?

     A. The results were great! The sales increased and customer satisfaction got even better.

     Q. What was the impact of your project on your company?

A. Sales increased by 265% with annualized cost savings of Php142,980.00

     Q. What was the impact of being a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt on you as an individual?

     A. Having the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, boosts self-worth and confidence. I also landed a job where I could maximize what I learned. As a shift leader, I am now creating processes, documenting them, and eventually improving them.

"That's one reason why companies give high value to Certified Lean Six Sigma individuals. One does not just attend a program and receive his certification but has to successfully apply and show proper use of tools and methodology with actual work processes. One has to earn his Lean Six Sigma certification,"- Rex Tuozo, “The Six Sigma Guy”

     Q. What would be your message to those who are currently taking/planning to take the Green Belt Program or those who are currently conducting their own projects?

     A. For those who are taking the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt program, congratulations because you are already a step ahead of your challenges. When you are faced with difficult situations and roadblocks in completing your projects and certification, look back to what this training really meant for you. Like my former boss said, “Pay your tuition once”. Do what it takes to complete your certification, and never let frustrations and disappointments weigh you down. Prayer and perseverance helped me achieve this long-awaited certification.

"If you attend our Lean Six Sigma programs, unlike other training providers, you get continuous support after the program, for no additional cost. You'll be assigned a Black Belt to help you complete your project," –Rex Tuozo, “The Six Sigma Guy”

To be certified in Lean Six Sigma, one has to complete an actual Lean Six Sigma project and apply process improvement tools, methodology, and techniques learned in class.
